THE WHISPER WE ALL KNOW

By Vyona Adhiambo Onyango , I t starts softly. A weight in your chest. A voice in the back of your mind. A sudden sense of knowing that can’t be explained. That’s how intuition speaks  not with thunder, not with logic, but with whispers. I’ve seen it in the smallest of moments. A mother who wakes up in the middle of the night, for no reason, only to find her child crying silently in the next room. A traveler who chooses a different route at the last minute and later learns there was an accident on the road he almost took. Or the student who feels uneasy about joining a certain group of friends but does it anyway  only to learn the cost of ignoring that discomfort. We all know that whisper. Some call it a gut feeling , others call it instinct . Whatever name we give it, we’ve all had a moment when it was right. But here’s the irony: even though we know its voice, we doubt it the most. When the gut tells us something doesn’t feel right, we smother it with logic. “I’m overthinki...
